Many families face barriers to books—whether due to distance from libraries, lack of time or resources. The Borrow Boxes remove these barriers with free access to children’s books within neighbourhoods—no membership is required and no late fee is asked.

Sustainability
Encourages reuse and sharing of beloved books. Many wonderful books languish on bookshelves or in boxes after reading and kids have grown up. The Borrow Box gives beautiful books a second life in the homes of new families.

Strengthens neighbourhood ties through shared reading and makes a local taonga to be enjoyed by everyone in the community.
